When a London townhouse required a full heating and hot water upgrade to replace an ageing and overly complex system, it turned to Keston and ACV UK to provide a reliable solution.
The property’s original setup included two boilers and multiple cylinders, split into separate heating zones with extensive pipework and valves, which increased maintenance requirements and created multiple potential points of failure. The basement plant room also required a system capable of supporting long flue runs with discreet termination.
To meet the challenge, two Keston System 2 30kW boilers were specified alongside a 60kW plate heat exchanger, each fitted with 22 mm filters and controlled via a Warm World sequencing controller. An ACV Smart E Plus 300-litre cylinder was also installed to meet the property’s hot water demand.
Keston’s twin flue technology provided the flexibility required for the long flue runs and allowed discreet termination, while the simplified system removed unnecessary components, to help improve efficiency and reduce the likelihood of faults.
Installed by Greenheat UK Limited, the new boilers now operate in cascade to meet varying heating demand, providing full redundancy - if one boiler requires servicing, the other continues to supply heating and hot water without disruption.
Completed within two weeks, the townhouse now benefits from a modern, efficient and robust heating and hot water system.
